Why I Built a Wellness Toolkit
I used to think I just needed to push through — exhaustion, mood swings, extra weight, brain fog, anxiety… all part of the deal, right? But hitting my 40s (while raising kids, working 12s, and healing from my past) forced me to reevaluate everything.
Instead of chasing quick fixes or burning out trying to “do it all,” I started building a simple set of tools that actually help me feel good. This is what’s in my midlife wellness toolkit — no fluff, no perfection, just small shifts that made a big difference.
What’s in My Toolkit?
🧠 Mindset Support
- Daily Journal Practice
→ Using prompts from my Reset & Reclaim journal to ground myself and process thoughts before they spiral.
→ Free journal prompts - 7-Day Mindset Reset Challenge
→ A gentle way to shift negative thinking, one day at a time.
→ Find the Reset Challenge here
🩺 Hormone + Energy Support
- Adaptogenic Supplements
→ I take natural supplements daily to help balance cortisol and reduce stress-related fatigue. I noticed better energy, fewer mood crashes, and more calm.
→ See all the supplements I use HERE. - Electrolytes + Hydration
→ Hydration isn’t just water — I use electrolytes that support energy, brain fog, and cravings, especially during hormonal dips. - Blood Sugar Balance
→ I aim for protein-rich meals/snacks to avoid that 3 p.m. crash and irritability. Game-changer.
💪 Movement + Rest
- Short, Functional Movement
→ 10–15 minutes of walking, stretching, or strength is enough to reset my nervous system and improve my mood. No guilt, no pressure. - Lifting to Build Muscle
→ In our 40s, women naturally start losing muscle mass — which affects energy, metabolism, and even mood. Strength training (even just a few times a week) has been key for me in feeling stronger, more stable, and confident in my body. - Sleep Rituals
→ I protect my bedtime like it’s sacred. Calming teas, magnesium, and a wind-down routine help me fall (and stay) asleep.
💛 Emotional + Nervous System Care
- Therapy + Boundaries
→ I worked through deep-rooted trauma and finally gave myself permission to go no-contact where necessary. That boundary gave me my peace back. - Supplements for Mood + Calm
→ I use my natural supplements to take the edge off naturally and support my mood. Especially helpful during PMS or high-stress weeks.
What This Toolkit Isn’t
It’s not a strict plan, a cleanse, or another list of “shoulds.” It’s a flexible, supportive rhythm that helps me feel strong, present, and connected to me.
It’s what helps me show up for my family, my work, and most importantly — myself.
